EFM: Main Features and Benefits

EFM supports a variety of image formats.

You can display directories of CAD-related files in 3 modes:

  • large thumbnail view (show me)
  • small thumbnail view (show me)
  • list view, with support for file descriptions (show me)

You can use dual pane layouts. This is like  well known DOS file managers but with all the GUI benefits (show me)

You can obtain full-screen views of CAD-related documents, print the documents, and convert drawings and images without running the native applications on your system. Three viewers are built into EFM:

  • DWG/DXF file viewer (view, print, and rotate 3D CAD drawings; redlining; file conversion) (show me)
  • PLT (HPGL/2) file viewer (view and print PLT (plot or HPLG/2) files; save files in DWF, WMF, PDF, TIFF formats) (show me)
  • Raster file viewer (show me)

You can attach descriptions to files and directories in customized fields, without limits to the amount of text. Power search is available based on file properties and keywords used in description fields (show me).

Replace Windows Explorer with EFM and enjoy a host of additional features specially designed for handling CAD and image files:

  • flexible file manipulation using both the Explorer and DOS methods
  • hot directories
  • reporting: print (show me), export to Excel, create HTML files (show me)
  • retrieve deleted files from the recycle bin of other machines on the network

EFM provides direct access to AutoCAD/IntelliCAD commands (Open, Insert, XREF, Plot).

EFM adds icons of external programs to the EFM button bar and executes the programs with user-defined parameters.

You can perform Block Management with AutoCAD/IntelliCAD: drag and drop DWG blocks or raster images organized in folders and libraries from EFM directly to the AutoCAD screen (show me).

EFM performs batch processing with AutoCAD/IntelliCAD: evaluates LISP or SCRIPT macros on selected drawings.

EFM can send PLT files directly to plotter.

EFM can capture screens in JPEG and BMP formats without the need to use graphic software.

EFM supports internal Pack/Unpack archives:

  • Unpack supports the following file types: ZIP, GZ, BH, LHA, LZH, RAR. JAR , CAB, ARJ, ARC, ACE, ZOO
  • Pack supports the following file types: ZIP, CAB, LHA, JAR, GZ, BH.
  • Archiving supports self-extacting .EXE files, including creation of multidisk archives.
